Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can I order by telephone?
    Yes, orders can be taken by telephone either of two ways:
    1. You can process your entire order online and then choose the "Credit Card by telephone" option under payment options.
    2. You can decide what it is you would like to buy and then call us and place your entire order over the telephone.
    Either way, simply call The Friends of Algonquin Park at (613) 637-2828 and ask to speak to the bookstore. Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Monday thru Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on weekends.
     
  2. How can I pay for my purchase?
    You can pay by credit card, cheque or money order. When checking out, simply choose the payment method you prefer. Keep in mind, however, if paying by cheque or money order we need to receive your payment before we will process your shipment.
     
  3. I don't understand the shipping charges, how do they work?
    Shipping charges are applied based on order amount (less membership) and shipping destination. Check our Shipping Table for more information.
     
  4. How long does shipping take?
    Most orders are sent out the day after we receive them. How long it take you to receive you order depends on where you live. Orders within Canada generally take 4-10 business days, orders to the United States 6-30 business days, and International orders 6-45 business days. None of these delivery times are guaranteed by The Friends of Algonquin Park. Express Post is available on map orders only. Express Post delivers to Canada within 2-4 business days, and to the United States within 4-10 business days.
     
  5. Can I have my shipment sent via courier?
    The Friends of Algonquin Park is located within the Algonquin Visitor Centre along Highway 60. We are in an isolated area and courier services do not service us (eg. Purolator, UPS, etc.). Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to send shipments via courier service.
