Park Trail Guides, Other Publications: Barron Canyon Trail

Barron Canyon TrailHistory of the Canyon (1.5 km)
The Barron Canyon is on the east side of Algonquin Park(a three hour, one way drive from the Hwy. 60 part of the Park). It begins 11 km beyond the Sand Lake Gate and 8 km before the Achray turn-off on the Lake Travers road.
Numbered sections of text in this guide correspond to numbered posts along the trail.

The trail itself is a 1.5 km loop leading to and along the north rim of the spectacular 100 m deep Barron Canyon before returning to the parking lot. Special caution needs to be practiced on this trail due to the height of the trail cliff. A must see for all Algonquin visitors, truly worth the drive. Why not bring a canoe and paddle the gentle waters of the canyon too. While on the east side of Algonquin Park, you may want to check out the 4.5 km Berm Lake Trail as well. Bring your camera!!
